APA Referencing Guide

This online guide is an abridged version of the American Psychological Association (APA, 2020a) 7th edition manual.

When you are writing assignments it is important to draw evidence from many sources.

A visual aid with a direct quote. It says: "For most papers, cite one or two of the most representative sources for each key point" (APA, 2022a, para. 1). The words "for each key point" are underlined to indicate emphasis.

For more information on the appropriate level of citation, please visit the APA Style website (APA, 2022a).

For information on citations for long paraphrasing (ie. an entire paragraph has key points from the same source) please see the recorded webinar from PSI CHI (2022) starting from time stamp 32:48.

For information regarding word count, and what is included in word counts, please see your assignment outlines.
